GEM Guyana Lifestyle magazine celebrates life and style of Guyanese at home and globally through thought-provoking stories and world-class images of people, places, events, businesses, and more. GEM is a photo-driven magazine which is published 4 times per year ( January, April, July, October), with gemguyana.com and our social media platforms being updated more frequently.

Features must be original work and stay on topic and the upbeat, positive spirit of the magazine. Our format is to be factual, to the point and entertaining. Prior to engagement, the word count and deadline are agreed upon between the contributor and editor(s). Like features, high quality original photos are used throughout the publication. We support unique writing techniques and quality in your submission. We expect articles to be submitted with photos or arrangements made to solicit photos to complement the article. We will not reply to every inquiry, but if we’re interested or have questions, we will contact you.

Features run from 800 to 1,200. Other regular department features run about 500 words. Our schedule and deadlines for print are as follow:
 

• January - deadline Oct 30, 2021

• April - deadline January 30, 2022

• July - deadline April 30, 2022

• October - deadline july 30, 2022

​Since photos are the essence of our magazine, all photographic submissions must be high-resolution digital images. Low-resolution may be rejected since our goal is to have a high quality publication.

The contributor understands that stories published in our print magazine may be used on our website and social media without additional payment unless otherwise agreed upon prior to the contractual arrangement. Payment is sent out upon publication of the print issue in which the work appears.
